RxRight is the leading electronic medication management system in Australia
and New Zealand for aged care providers. Medication error is one of the most common causes of unintentional harm in Australia which results in at least 80,000 hospital admissions every year. By linking doctors, pharmacies and people who administer medications into one electronic system, it successfully eliminates medication errors and simplifies the process of medication review and audit. RxRight will be available both as an integrated module within iCare's Clinical and Care Management solution as well as a stand alone product. >> Download iCare's RxRight Medication Management Flyer About RxRight RxRight was conceived by pharmacist Keryn Coghill and developed by Dr Chaolin Chang from Melbourne. Keryn has 33 years experience working as a pharmacist in hospital and community pharmacy, before specialising in aged care medication management. The name RxRight is a double reference to the Rx symbol for 'prescription' and 'Right' referring to the six rights of medication administration for health care workers. The rights are: the right medication, the right dose, the right client, the right route, the right time and proper documentation. As well as safeguarding the prescription and administration of medication and enabling residents' records to be kept fully up to date at all points, RxRight also produces a full suite of reports required by facility auditors, medication advisors and coroners' offices, and also produces the necessary compliance reports for funding under the Government's new Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) regulations. RxRight also produces tangible cost savings, typically saving a registered nurse in a 60 bed facility up to two and a half hours' time on paper based reviews and administration of medication and the production of up to date clinical reports. | |
